Explore the Wilder side of St Ives….
Join Professional foraging guide Joshua Quick and learn how to sustainably harvest wild foods, for free, from the hundreds of edible wild plants that surround us.

Wild foods have become increasingly popular in recent years and are used by some of the top restaurants and drinks producers in the world. There are some incredible ingredients out there hiding in plain sight and with the right knowledge you can begin to harvest and create your own delicious and unique food and drinks.

Foraging is about so much more than just free food. It’s like a treasure hunt for adults and a very playful way to explore the natural world. Being able to harvest wild edible plants connects us to our local landscape, flora and the seasons in ways no other food can.

Perfect for complete beginners or more experienced foragers, the content of the course will be tailored to peoples experience and interests. The aim is to give people the skills and confidence to begin their own journey into the world of wild foods.

We’ll head out along the stunning coastpath from St Ives exploring a range of edible coastal plants. There are many different habitats and interesting wild plants to meet. We’ll look at techniques to identify plants, legal issues, poisonous plants to avoid, sustainable harvesting techniques and uses of plants as food, drinks, fibres and much more.

There will also be some food and drink samples to try made from wild harvested ingredients.

Learning to forage is always a great day out, but don’t take my word for it. Here’s what others had to say:

“Our coastal foraging walk with Josh was a highlight from our trip to St Ives. Josh made it fun and interesting for both the adults and the kids (9 and 13 yrs) in our group as we learned to see our surroundings in a new way. The edible bounty along that one stretch of public footpath was really astonishing. Very fun – good for most fitness levels and ages! Highly recommend..”

“A totally amazing experience which was relaxing, informative and fun.
Josh is a fantastic guide and teacher in the best sense of the word.
His guided tours would suit almost everyone- a great family outing, brilliant as an alternative holiday activity for young and old alike. Cannot recommend Josh and the experience enough- truly a 5 star experience. Thankyou Josh.”
