Foraged Beers, Spirits, & Cocktails, London

Join a Totally Wild UK professional forager to learn the basics of foraging and to discover a range of wild edibles that can be used in beers, spirits and cocktails.
After our initial meeting we will go through the basics of foraging and how you can intertwine it with beers, spirits, cocktails and mocktails. Then we head out to discover the vast array of wild edible species that lie all around us. During the Foraging event your professional forager will introduce you to a number of edible species; giving you tips on harvesting, correct identification and possible look-alikes. Whilst doing this you will have the opportunity to taste a range of pre-made wild food tasters from pickles to jams, chutneys, syrups, flavoured salts, alchohol infusions, beers and much more whilst talking through their uses on the bar and at the home.
After our forage, we’ll taste various beers, spirits and cordials, and make some cocktails with them. We’ll have some pre-prepared foraged snacks to accompany the drinks too.. In the past we’ve enjoyed delights such as acorn sour-dough bread, ginger and knotweed jam, cheese and hawthorn chutney, dandelion root “coffee” cake, elderflower cordial and nettle cordial, mugwort ale, rosehip vodka, sloe gin and Sloe Alexander cocktails (these items will change with seasonal availability but will always be deliciously wild).
Following the event, you will be provided with an email giving you a round up including a description of all the wild edibles found through the session including any recipes used in the event.
