Heligan Harvest: a taste of our heritage
September 23, 2017 - October 13, 2017
With the traditional principles of farming, food provenance, sustainability, taste and seasonality at the forefront of our culinary being; we once again invite you to join us this Harvest to celebrate the fruition of the gardening year and share a taste of our heritage.
This year’s Heligan Harvest has a cornucopia of events lined up and sees the home of the ‘Finest Productive Garden’ in Britain celebrating its gardening year in traditional style, culminating in two incredible Feast Nights!
Saturday 23rd September – Sunday 8th October sees us celebrate the fruition of the gardening year with our annual Heligan Harvest Event.
Expect an exciting programme of talks, demonstrations, tasters and crafts as the gardens and estate unite in bringing the bounty of produce and traditional skills together in their two week harvest celebration.
We will immerse you in the very heart of productive life and embark you on a journey steeped in their Victorian history and horticultural heritage, through the medium of food.
You’ll have the opportunity to try some of Heligan’s unique and some incredibly rare heritage produce at their daily tasters.
Our Productive Garden and Estate tours will also give you the chance to meet and talk to the incredible team behind Heligan’s success.
Complimenting this will be the chance to join a series of culinary masterclasses over the weekends with one of the many guest speakers from the industry, who will be demonstrating their skills throughout.
For the first time this year, the harvest programme includes a selection of art and craft classes run by local artists. These classes are individually priced and booking is essential to get your place! If botanical tile-making, soap creation, graphite drawing or willow weaving inspire you then make sure you don’t miss out this autumn.
Heligan Feast Nights return for two exclusive nights on Saturdays 30th September and 7th October, with limited places available. These evenings are sure to guarantee you an incredible atmosphere as the Heligan Kitchen welcome two guest chefs to showcase their skills and Heligan’s produce in a mouth-watering three course meal; accompanied by live music.
All other Harvest activities are free with garden admission excepting the specialist craft classes.
