Introduction to Biodynamic Gardening

Biodynamic gardening offers a unique holistic approach to organic gardening, and brings a new dimension and understanding of how to work with Nature in your garden. This course offers an overview of the biodynamic approach to gardening, its philosophy and its main practical methods.
The course will cover:
- Planning your biodynamic garden: the importance of bee plants, open pollinated seeds and water
- Soils and how to nurture them
- The use of the planting calendar
- The use of Biodynamic preparations
- The biodynamic kitchen garden
A tour of the Biodynamic Garden at Ryton Organic Gardens is also included.
This course is run in conjunction with the Biodynamic Association: www.biodynamic.org.uk and the Ruskin Mill Trust: www.rmt.org. The course is run by Matthew Hayes, biodynamic grower and development manager of the Rooftop Garden at Argent College, Birmingham.
