Get your weekend off to a philosophically caffeinated start

To begin, coffee blogger Brian Williams gives an entertaining and illuminating introduction to the history and culture of coffee, from its humble origins to world domination.

This is followed by a ‘cupping’ (the official name for a coffee tasting) with Origin Coffee: a chance to sip on a variety of coffees and learn about their origins.

Brian Williams blogs about the culture of coffee at Brian’s Coffee Spot and is the author of The Philosophy of Coffee published by British Library Publishing.

Origin Coffee is one of the UK’s leading specialty coffee roasters. From its roastery in Helston, Cornwall, it roasts and sells exceptional coffee with an emphasis on sustainability and direct trade relationships with farmers from around the globe. Founded in Cornwall in 2004, they have their own coffee shops in the South West and London and are favoured by some of the UK’s top local and national speciality coffee outlets. Source. Roast. Educate. Brew.
