Tree Identification Workshop
April 12 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm£15
Join Ethnobotanist and Professional Wild food guide Joshua Quick for this Tree identification workshop.
Learning to identify a range of Common tree species can greatly enhance any walk in the countryside. We’ll spend the day in the beautiful Steeple woodland nature reserve; Home to a rich diversity of ancient trees. The workshop will focus on how to identify many common Tree species as well as looking at modern and historical uses of trees throughout Human history.
Trees have always been an important part of human culture, providing beauty, food, fuel, medicines and shelter.
No experience is necessary. With a few key pointers and observation, it becomes easy to identify a range of species. The aim of the day is to get people confidently identifying a variety of trees you are likely to encounter in British woodlands.
Joshua is fascinated by the world of plants and set up Wild St Ives to share his passion with others; introducing them to our green leafy friends and showing how we can incorporate plants into our everyday lives. He grew up playing amongst the trees in the Steeple and this is a woodland close to his heart.
