Our marketing activities are crucial to the Soil Association’s success. And as we are tackling some of the biggest problems facing our world today – how we produce our food and what we eat – they’re becoming more important than ever. Our members, farmers and growers are at the heart of the organic movement and it’s vital we both recruit more members and inspire more farmers, organic and non-organic to get involved.

About the Role
Your challenge as Head of Marketing will be to find and engage these people and, working with great content and a great team, develop marketing plans and communications that inspire both regular charitable donations and engagement from farmers and growers. You’ll significantly grow regular donor numbers, reaching out into new markets and new audiences, and maximising opportunities presented by the growing ‘good food’ movement in the UK. Leading on our communication to all farmers, you’ll encourage engagement with innovative new ideas in sustainable farming and changes in practice.

About you
With extensive marketing experience, ideally from within the charity sector, you will be adept at delivering strategic objectives through direct and digital marketing means. A brilliant collaborator and effective communicator, you will be comfortable operating as part of a senior management team, as well as leading your team by inspiring and motivating them to deliver with pace. With substantial CRM and data management experience, you will demonstrate the value of insight and data in your decision-making.
