    Email:

Sustainable, organic and environmentally sound, Sheepdrove Eco Conference Centre combines exceptional surroundings with the most advanced technology and attentive service to make your event a complete success. The conference centre is housed in a beautiful, eco-friendly building set at the heart of a 2,500 acre working organic farm,  surrounded by fields and woodlands, with spectacular views across rolling Berkshire downland. This purpose-built conference environment has state of the art presentation equipment and conference facilities for between nine and 200 delegates. Each room offers a unique space for different styles of meeting – and there are plenty of break out areas. In the vaulted dining room, food cooked from organic produce grown and raised on the farm is served. Visitors can take farm tours and see how an organic system works. Or they can simply wander through grassy meadows, past grazing animals and native woodland, along the reed beds which transform waste water from the conference centre into a clear, clean lake. Poultry, beef, lamb, mutton and pork are reared on the farm and processed to high standards in terms of welfare and meat quality. It is all Soil Association-registered and completely GMO-free. Sheepdrove also has a butchers and shop in London (http://sheepdrove.com/our-london-shop/) selling organic and GMO-free meat reared on the farm. The store also stocks fine organic wine, their own Sheepdrove honey, preserves, organic wholemeal flour, organic eggs, game (when in season), and an eclectic collection of books.

The British Association for Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers (BAFTS) is an association of members in three membership categories who, although independent, unite in a core purpose which is to bring about fundamental changes in the status of developing world producers through Fair Trade retailing and campaigning. Our members work together to create an alternative model to conventional international trade; a model in which human rights are at the top of our agenda.

  • Specialist Cheesemakers’ Association

    Email:

The Specialist Cheesemakers Association (SCA) is an alliance of cheesemakers, retailers, wholesalers and others involved with artisan cheese, which was established to encourage excellence in cheesemaking.  It provides a forum for members to exchange ideas and represents the interests of members to the Government and media. The SCA is the first port of call for any retailer or cheesemaker with technical, health or hygiene problems, and in some instances, this may involve the association having to go out on a limb to support a member. It is vital that our members demonstrate their commitment to quality by having in place a Food Safety Management system and abiding by the SCA Assured Code of Best Practice. We will not jeopardise the reputation of the industry or the Association for a member who does not have these in place. The Specialist Cheesemakers Association was established in 1989 and its patron is HRH the Prince of Wales.
