    The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company

    Email:

The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company began as a small street food trader, doing local markets around the county. Our signature ‘Seashore Wraps’ turned out to be very popular and suddenly we were thrust into the British Street Food Awards. Our beach shack won multiple golds including ‘Best of the Best 2011’. This success meant that we were able to cater at the London 2012 Olympic Games and our local, sustainable, seafood went down a treat with the athletes. In 2014 we took Silver at Glastonbury Music Festival’s ‘Green’ awards for our ethical packaging and food. Our speciality deli products materialised as a natural extension of the recipes sold on the beach shack, the sea foraged goodies really took off in Spring 2013. At Freshwater West we trade locally caught crab and lobster as well as our Beach Burgers and Bacon butties with Welsh Sea Black Butter which are from down the road in Yerberston. Cafe Môr at Freshwater West was awarded ‘Best British Street Food/Take Away in the UK’ at the BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming  awards 2014, so well worth a trip to one of the most beautiful beaches in Pembrokeshire for lunch!

    Coleshill Organics

    Email:

Coleshill Organics was started on a small farm at Watchfield in 1995; from an initial two acres this has grown to about seven acres in total now. The box scheme operates from within the walled garden in Coleshill, on the Oxfordshire/Wiltshire border. Free delivery is offered to collection points and individual homes within a 15 mile radius of Coleshill. New customers signing up to receive a regular box delivery get their fifth box free. There is also a farm shop located within the walled garden which is open from Wednesday to Saturday. Coleshill has thousands of visitors each year, mostly school/college groups who pick and eat their way around the garden and hopefully develop a lasting desire to know where their food originates from. The business grew out of a passion to provide local people with the highest quality fresh produce. Coleshill Organics can also be found every Saturday from 9am until 2pm at Cornhill Market Place (and surrounding streets), Stroud, GL5 2HH.

  • Kentish Town Vegbox

    Email:

Vegbox is a community-led organic vegetable box scheme based in Kentish Town in north London, with a weekly selection of fresh seasonal produce, sourced as locally as possible. We are: Local and seasonal – we source as locally as possible, and work within the limits of what is seasonally available in England. A consumer co-operative – our customers are our members. Low carbon – our members collect their weekly vegetable bag from community pick-up points around Kentish Town, a sociable way of cutting down on pollution and air miles. Not for profit: any surplus we make will be re-invested in the organisation and in growing projects. Fair trade – we’re harnessing the collective buying power of our community and providing a regular outlet and fair price for small-scale organic farmers. Accessible – we aim to make our weekly organic vegetable bags as affordable as possible. Low waste – we only order what we need each week and any left over after packing is given to local partners – currently The Fields Beneath cafe, the Calthorpe Project, Ladies and Gentlemen bar, and Camden Homeless Solidarity Space. Ambitious – by working together, we want to help build an alternative economy in which we support sustainable farms and consume our food more mindfully.
